Zaruba NL 1

Zaruba NL description
The Zaruba NL is a portable counter‑UAV device designed for the rapid neutralization of drones within line of sight. Its operating principle is based on mechanical disruption: after activation, a special net is discharged from the cartridge, which deploys in a fraction of a second and entangles the drone’s propellers, completely disabling control and preventing further flight. The system is intended for use in conditions where the deployment of electronic warfare equipment is undesirable or ineffective. Thanks to its simple design and intuitive operating procedure—removing the safety, aiming, and pulling the trigger—the device requires minimal training and is ready for immediate use in rapid-response situations.

Technical characteristics of Zaruba NL
The net launcher’s firing mechanism uses a 0.3 inch pyrotechnic cartridge, which ensures stable and predictable net deployment with high initial velocity.
Full deployment of the 10 × 10 feet net occurs within 0.195 seconds, enabling effective engagement of aerial targets at short range without the need for post-shot tracking.
The maximum effective operating range is up to 25 meters, which is optimal for close-range protection.
The design requires the device to be held with both hands due to the recoil generated during pyrotechnic cartridge activation.

FAQ
The Zaruba NL system uses a mechanical interception method: after the pyrotechnic charge is fired, the net instantly deploys in the air (in about 0.2 seconds) and entangles the drone’s propellers. As a result, the drone loses lift and control and falls. This method does not depend on radio frequencies and is effective even against autonomous or electronic warfare-resistant drones.
Interception allows neutralizing a drone without explosions or additional risks to the surrounding environment. This is especially important at close ranges and in situations where there is a risk of damaging friendly positions or equipment with debris.
It enhances protection at distances of up to 25 meters, providing an instant response to low-altitude threats. When other systems are less effective at short ranges, the Zaruba NL ensures precise interception and rapid neutralization.
The Zaruba NL is effective against FPV drones, lightweight quadcopters, and small UAVs. It is specifically designed for close-range protection against fast and maneuverable targets.
Effectiveness depends on the correct distance (up to 25 m) and the timing of the shot. The best results are achieved when the drone enters the net deployment zone (15–20 m), where it reaches its maximum area, approximately 3×3 m.
Its compact size and weight of around 620 g allow the net launcher to be carried in a pouch or backpack. The device is ready for use in seconds: simply remove the safety, aim, and press the button.
The expanding net creates a larger capture area, compensating for sudden movements or erratic drone behavior. This increases the probability of interception even when precise aiming is difficult.
Minimizing collateral damage is crucial in urban areas and near critical infrastructure. A net-based system reduces the risk of explosions or destruction, providing a safer way to neutralize aerial threats.
Instant readiness allows operators to respond within seconds of detection. Rapid activation is critical when countering fast-approaching drones, where any delay could result in mission failure.
The simple design, independence from radio frequencies, and the ability to operate without additional equipment make the net launcher a versatile solution for mobile units and short-range position defense.
