Zaruba Ground Station Ground Control & Repeater Systems for UAV Operations & RF Communications

“Zaruba Ground Station” is a line of ground-based control and repeater systems designed to provide stable video communication and transmission of control commands for FPV drones over long distances in situations where a direct link is limited by terrain, buildings, obstacles, or interference. The “Zaruba Ground Station HC1” ground control station sets up the pilot/navigator workstation and allows operation from cover using external antenna modules and cables. The “Zaruba Ground Station 5.8” ground wireless repeater is mounted on a mast and provides two-way communication: it receives the video signal from the UAV, transmits it to the operator, and relays control signals in the opposite direction, extending the operational range up to 16 miles (depending on conditions). The “Zaruba Ground Station K1” system combines a station, repeater, 30-feet telescopic mast, and antenna kit for rapid deployment of a fully functional ground communication node.

Technical characteristics of Zaruba Ground Station

[ 01 ]
High-Sensitivity Video Reception

Video reception in the “Zaruba Ground Station” systems is implemented using SKYZONE SteadyView X 5.8G receivers with a sensitivity of −98 dBm ± 1 dBm, which enhances performance with weak signals and reduces the risk of video loss in challenging radio environments.

[ 02 ]
External Antenna Modules

Deploying external antenna modules allows operation from cover and positions the antennas in a "cleaner" reception location.

[ 03 ]
Extended Battery Autonomy

Autonomous power from a 6S2P battery provides up to 8 hours of operation for the repeater, while the ground station with two 6S2P batteries operates for up to 6 hours.

[ 04 ]
Support

The production and technical support of the “Zaruba Ground Station” ground repeater are provided by Zaruba Tech.

FAQ

The Vishchun system uses a ground-based wireless repeater as an intermediary communication node between the operator and the UAV. The Vishchun-5.8 repeater receives the video signal from the drone and forwards it, while simultaneously relaying control signals back to the drone. This allows the system’s operational range to reach up to 25 km, depending on the application conditions.

The Vishchun-HC1 ground station allows the pilot and navigator to operate from a safe location, including from cover, while maintaining full control of the UAV and receiving real-time video. By deploying antenna modules remotely and using cables, the workstation can be set up separately from the signal transmission and reception point.

A repeater receives signals from the drone and transmits them to the operator, maintaining continuous communication even when direct line of sight is limited. This stabilizes both control commands and real-time video feed.

In the Vishchun-K1 system, the repeater is mounted on a 9-meter telescopic aluminum mast. Elevating the antenna in this way improves signal reception and transmission, helps overcome terrain and building obstructions, and increases communication stability over long distances.

Stable signal transmission ensures continuous control and real-time video communication. This is critical for precise tasks, navigation, and successful mission execution, especially in challenging or hazardous conditions.

The system allows simultaneous use of monitors and FPV goggles, enabling pilots and support teams to access real-time data together. This improves coordination, decision-making, and mission effectiveness.

An effective system combines high-gain antennas, sensitive receivers, and repeater technologies. This allows communication to be maintained even in environments with interference or weak signals.

The Vishchun system is designed as a rapidly deployable ground solution. The Vishchun-K1 complex combines the station, repeater, mast, and antenna kit into a single package, allowing a fully operational ground communication node to be quickly set up in the field.

The Vishchun-5.8 repeater is powered by a 6S2P battery and can operate for up to 8 hours. The Vishchun-HC1 ground station uses two 6S2P batteries, while the remote module is powered by two 18650 cells, providing the station with up to 6 hours of autonomous operation.

The Vishchun lineup consists of separate components that can be used individually or as part of a complete system. The ground station, wireless repeater, and telescopic mast can be combined depending on the mission, allowing the system to adapt to different operational conditions and FPV drone deployment scenarios.
